Things Took a Turn
Things Took a Turn is an animation anthology that challenges artists of marginalized genders (including women, non-binary artists, and trans men) to create new animated short stories by twisting familiar narratives.
I created the anthology as a means to encourage myself to keep making short films after graduating from school, but in opening the idea up to the public I ended up creating something much bigger. I wanted it to be a place where people could experiment with styles they’d never worked with before, to try new things, and to learn to tell stories with intent. The anthology ran from 2018-2024, featuring 38 original short films from creators of marginalized genders.
